Juvenile Bald Eagles near Whitehorse YT

21 June 2013 - Friday

Today I had some errands in Whitehorse and decided to visit the bluffs along Fish Lake Road and McIntyre Creek. It was a good morning for seeing these juvenile bald eagles.

The photo-shoot started out normal enough with some juvenile bald eagles overhead.

This juvenile bald eagle is diving towards another eagle

The action took a turn ... two of the juveniles began sparring in the air! These were quite a distance away and moving fast so my focus was a bit fuzzy.

Hey, watch it!

Which way is up?

Take that!

Then a raven joined the fracas and harassed another juvenile bald eagle. The eagle simply tried to ignore the raven. Yet the raven matched every move of the eagle ...

Along the creek's edge, I noticed another juvenile patiently waiting for lunch to float by.

Then it was time to wrap up the morning's photo session and head home.
