I was tired this morning, having been up most of the night photographing the Northern Lights. However, the blue skies and warm sunshine were tempting and are all that is needed to take a drive for a picnic lunch by the shores of Kluane Lake.
As we pulled out of our driveway, the first wildlife of the day was nearby. The Takhini Elk herd were resting on a south facing hill, also enjoying the sunshine.

The sky cleared even more as we neared Kluane Lake. Soon the lake was in view.

There's a nice gravel pull-off on the south end of the lake. It is a good spot to walk the dogs and enjoy the views while munching lunch.

The Dall Sheep were also enjoying the sun on the south slope of Sheep Mountain. Some were grazing while others were resting.

The rams were grouped together, resting in the sun.

Further along the highway, near the boat launch, there were a few sheep on the rocky face.

Some of the sheep were further to the west on the south slope.

A nice day for a drive. Same old scenery, but it never gets boring!
