The camera gear has upgraded through the years:
1993-2001: film camera so the images are scanned
from negatives
2007-2008: Canon A70 -- 3.2 megapixel point & shoot
2009: Canon S5IS -- 8.0 megapixel point & shoot
with extended zoom
2010: Canon 7D DSLR, 18.0 megapixel and 10-22mm,
24-105mm & 100-400mm lenses
2011: added a Canon G12, 10.0 megapixel point &
shoot
Many of the images on my website are taken out the truck window while Steve drives. The A70 and S5IS are the two most used for this. In 2011, the G12 became my primary "point & shoot". It has a hybrid image stabilization feature which is very effective for shots out the truck window..
Some of you wonder about whether I use a tripod with the 100-400mm lens. I have a tripod. But haven't used it much. Typically, my shots are handheld. Sometimes using the truck, a tree or a rock for stabilization.
Adobe Photoshop for photo editing.
With the 7D & G12, I shoot in RAW format and use Canon's Digital Photo Professional to convert from RAW to jpeg format.
My website was initially set up in Microsoft's Expression Web. I will be converting it to Adobe's Dreamweaver in the near future. Just haven't had time to do that yet.
I created the "template". My intent was to make it easy-to-read (large text in a serif typestyle), easy-to-navigate (left and right menu bars), and simple.
No flash. No java. Plain & simple. It works.
My webhost is HostPapa - affordable & reliable. My website is
not hosted on a blog site which typically provide templates for ease
of use for those not familiar with html coding.
