Friends visiting from the Lower Mainland prompted us to head out for a drive. It wasn't long before we were at Kluane Lake. The blue sky was brilliant. The snow sparse.

A favourite spot of mine is Silver City, on the south shore of Kluane Lake.

Kodi, Steve and Ursa on the beach in the sunshine!
As we stood admiring the scenery, Steve noticed a fin swimming by.

The wind was chilly. An old frostbite zone on my cheek started to burn so we headed back to the car and drove back to Silver City for some exploring.

A favourite historical cabin
Back to our cars to continue the drive around the lake to an area by Soldier's
Summit.
The wind was whipping from west to east, creating lines of
snow on fresh ice on the lake.

On our way to the viewpoint we saw Dall Sheep on Sheep Mountain.

Dall Sheep
The sheep were thick coated and chubby.

Mom and her young one, I think.

And more sheep ...
From here we headed to Haines Junction and then home. Our friends decided to stay at a hotel in the Junction
and do more exploring tomorrow.
