What a difference a day makes! The early morning had some overcast but the sky soon shifted to being bright and blue! We were surprised to see fresh snow on the mountains along the east shore of Kluane Lake.

The day was becoming a good one so we felt ready to continue southward on the Alaska Highway and enjoy the scenic mountains. This area is one of our favorite in the Yukon for scenery. Much can be missed on an overcast day but today was perfect!

First we needed to once again traverse the construction zone north of the Slim's River bridge. All of this construction is complete now (2020)

Heading south towards Haines Junction it is easy to continue enjoying the scenery.

At Haines Junction we debated continuing south along the Alaska Highway or turning right onto the road to Haines, Alaska.
