Woke to some light overcast this morning. Warm too. As usual, before getting on the road there is a dog walk.

Walking
the trail alongside Kluane Lake
As we rounded a bend, the dogs began scenting the air. In the distance we noted Dall Sheep on the lower slope of Sheep Mountain.

During the walk back to our camp I noted something in the rocks. Closer inspection revealed a survey marker from 1943, certainly from the construction of the highway!

Then the drive home - the Dall Sheep had moved up the slope a bit, but still close enough to get some pictures with the zoom lens.

Further along, Slims River...

The weather became progressively worse towards Haines Junction. Drizzly and rain with low cloud interfering with picture taking.

Still beautiful despite the rain
It was a nice getaway. Quick, but worthy. Good to be back at the cabin too, though.
